I‘m an inspiration!

Literally reeling. On Saturday I did week5 run3 and huffed and puffed past a school gate parent. Tonight they brought up seeing me and I apologised for not being able to stop as it was the 20 minute thing in my earphones. They said seeing me had inspired them to run for the first time in ages and they went out that day! This is beyond ridiculous for a flabby couch potato like myself. However it is also positive and needs recording, so this is where it will be best understood:-)

Awesome post! You are now officially a role model, whether you like it or not! Way to go 🎉👏

Well done.

Every one on this forum who is seen out running is changing social norms and influencing others, whether they know it or not.

Keep it up, keep running, keep smiling and let's get the whole world running.

That’s great!! we don’t see ourselves in the same way others do, a couple of my friends now run just because they wanted to do what i do 😀

That’s brilliant! Not only did you run for 20 minutes, you inspired someone else too. I’d say that was a big success all round. Way to go! 🤩🤩🤩

Well done. I had a similar experience where I met neighbours out walking when I was n’est the end of a run. I stopped to chat and they apologised for interrupting my run. I admitted I’d not done well as I’d done lots of short walks but they too said it was better than they could manage! #unlikelyrolemodels! It’s all relative.

Thanks everyone, I was so excited when I posted this but did also worry about blowing my own trumpet as it were. It’s W6R1 today (been giving a twingy knee time to rest) and am going to wait until the cooler evening now, hopefully that will be OK. I usually run before most food (on half a banana) but can’t do that today. I know it can be a bit of an interesting run but I am going to take it steady and hopefully enjoy it. Monday and yesterday was the first time in my life I was disappointed I couldn’t go for a run!!!

Oh my goodness, a friend has just said on FB I have got them running again. That’s two in less than a week! It’s funny how this stuff is catching (took me a long time to join in but I finally did).
