Rain was bouncing of the ground this morning so this was the first time since starting c25k where I actually wondered... Do I even have shorts that still fit me? It's a bit of nuisance trying to keep track bottoms from ending up round your knees once they're soaked. There is one pair but hmmm... I think might be issues keeping them up even without being drenched. Maybe better to wait till the evening so coffee next on the agenda. Get half way through the cup checking posts on here then the clouds parted and sun beaming through the window so coffee gets abandoned and it's a race to get running gear on... I'm sure there are some stretches involved in that.
I've been running the same route for a while but most other areas I've walked around here have some rather steep hills and I don't feel ready yet to throw that in the mix though seeing pictures from some others runs has been wetting my appetite for it... Might make that a goal for graduation. Only a slight breeze today so all was well, pace and breathing felt fine, and allowed my mind to wonder looking across Strangford Lough with the light bouncing over the water surface. Once I got Laura with the "5mins left... You should be feeling tired"... I dunno if it was mental or physical but it all became tougher until the end - was just content at completing it. Maybe it was a bit of muscle fatigue after physio again, just one of those days.... Or was it that half cup of coffee before I rushed out (I'll try to avoid that next time anyway). Home, stretched, washed, glass of water... Yeah that became a tougher one but that's okay, didn't give up and another run under my belt.
A question on the stretching front... Everyone seems to have their own regime for what stretches and when. Do you prefer to stretch out after the run is over, wait until after the cool down walk, or a bit of both?
