Thank you to everyone who has taken the time and trouble to help me. It is greatly appreciated.
Today was a ‘non-run’ day, as I did a 6k run yesterday and will run tomorrow. After reading all the posts yesterday, I thought I’d have a ‘little’ run through the woods with my four legged running partner. Even though I knew I didn’t have to run today, I still got the familiar ‘jittery’ feeling, coupled with the dry mouth at the thought of running outside, however, I envisaged running through the woods amongst the bluebells. Told myself to stop thinking before you start, it’s a cracking day and it will be ok. If I walk today, it doesn’t matter. I gave myself less time today to get ready, literally dressed, stretched and out. It really is a ‘day by day’ exercise. Some days are better than others but it’s adopting the various coping strategies and not be so hard on myself. Today was ok, a ‘little win’ which I shall bank and fall back on when I need to.
Thank you all for your kind words and encouragement. I thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤️

Good morning John_W, although not a ‘run day’ today, (it’s a gym day), I did have a little 5K run through the woods this morning. I am not usually keen on off road running as you have to watch your feet a lot and make sure you don’t trip up over all the tree roots! However, today is such a cracking day and with all the bluebells out, it would be impossible not to enjoy it. I did visualise myself running in the woods before I went out, plus a shorter getting ready time. I’am a ‘work in progress’ and shall utilise the suggestions that people have kindly proffered.
The little wins become the big wins, so brilliant job today. I really like your approach to weaving a bit of running into the walks, as I suspect that makes it less intimidating.
Your four-legged friend is utterly adorable 😍. And a tad hot. And the bluebells are beautiful. What a wonderful location.
