It was my 50th birthday last week and so I decided to treat myself to an overnight stay at a spa resort. Wednesday or Thursday are my usual run 2 days (Monday is always run 1) and so I decided I’d run her before breakfast.
A different experience as I ran mainly around the grounds running laps which were a little bit dull, except for the fact I spotted 2 bunnies, 2 squirrels and a deer on my circuits 😍 I also got brave enough to follow a public bridleway sign and ran along that for a while breaking up the laps a little.
So a different run to my normal paths and road experience with some different surfaces underfoot (damp grass, goose pooh, mud, etc). Loved having wildlife to spot and to listen to as I ran. Something to try and include in my runs!
As always pleased to have completed the run, not always loving doing the run!

I’m a huge fan of getting off the beaten track in a new area. This sounds like the perfect run, especially with the wildlife. What a way to celebrate a milestone. Belated happy birthday. Here’s to many more (wonderful runs and birthdays).
It's lovely to see wildlife isn't it? I don't think I would be getting through these runs quite so well if I wasn't able to wave at the swans, egrets, shelducks etc that I pass on route. Sometimes I even do crow noises or baa at sheep when I pass them. Thankfully no-one else around to witness it though
