Week 8 run 2

Fab run today. Felt really comfortable for the majority of the way. I was struggling and everyone said to go slower. It wasn't working so I ran a little faster. Completely worked, felt more natural and easier. I love running. Something I thought I would never say. I've also been on a weight loss journey. My picture tells the story.

Certainly can. I hadn't run anywhere for years. In fact at school I used to bunk off PE. Now I love it! Can't believe I started at the age of 44. Never too late!

Running a bit faster to cope with struggling? There's a concept to grapple with ... I am still subscribing to the "steady goes it - slower still" technique. What a great photo, well done you!

The picture certainly does! I don't just mean thinner. You look fitter AND happier - a big well done. I hope I can do the same - an inspiration. PS dog looks a bit worn out lol.

The dog doesn't run with me! Her little tongue hangs out all the while!

Aww, well done kesmcg, that really is inspiring to hear (read, even haha). You look super duper fabbo too. What regime have you got regarding your diet? I'm trying to reduce on the carbs, buy it's quite difficult lately. I'm hoping the couch to 5k podcast will help. On wk 2 run 2 currently.

Love your little 'dawg' too, what a sweetie. Mine can't run with me as he gets out of puff, (little yorkie), but you look fab, fair play x

I did slimming world. Lost four stone, eight pounds since last August. I eat carbs but not a lot of sugar and fat. Loads of fruit and veg with protein. I snack a lot on protein, e.g. Ham, crustless quiche etc. Worked for me. Thanks for the compliment.

I sort of know what you mean, sometimes really slow running can be very tiring. If you've found something that works for you, go with it. BTW you look really good!

I think I was expending more energy being really slow. I'm not racing along! Thanks!

I like what you say about running faster, but I'm too scared I'll cause an injury. But that's an interesting tip.

Glad you found something that worked for you.

When I was having a tough patch the guy that was my run leader told me to take shorter strides instead of telling me to run slower, which I found worked quite well for me.
