Blimey! I did it! Week 4 run 1 !

I must admit I was a bit worried about doing the extra distance this week. Would I manage the extra time. It sounded like a big jump from last week and I had been so tired. So I’m feeling really proud of myself this morning because I blooming well smashed it. . A few knee clicks but nothing to worry about. The only place I feel discomfort is in my calves when running. They settled down during recovery walk though and I made sure to do the post exercise stretches. Im gobsmacked to even get this far. Onwards and upwards !

Well done.

If you are feeling tension in your calves as you run then you may benefit from doing a longer warm up including some dynamic stretches, as linked to in the guide to the plan.

Better hydration might also help.

Well done! I remember looking forward on the program and thinking I’ll never manage that, but it’s so well designed. Onwards and upwards indeed! 😊

Well done. Stretching will help tho I found my calves felt it more on run one of weeks 3 and 4 so maybe was a bit of adapting to longer runs. I have been doing calf raises particularly on rest days but found that heel drops seemed to help more for me.

Exercising calves on rest days sounds like a plans. Ill try that. Thanks 🙏🏾
