Re-doing my C25k journey, but the Zombie, Run way (Smartphone App: ZR5K).
So got out there this morning, choosing a different route than my usual run-around-the-hill route. This route is a former railway line, so is much less muddy in rainy weather. And it was a great session, with everyone out walking being ultra-friendly and everybody seeming ultra-proud of getting out there in the drizzly rain and fog and cold. Including me!
The Session included a 10 min warm-up walk, which is great for this route, as I have to walk for 10 minutes through the village to get to the wooded path. Then 1 minute walking, 30 seconds running, and 5 heel raises, where you stand and lift yourself onto your toes. Repeat 8 times. And then a last 10 minutes free form, where you can run-walk as you feel fit.
Great session.
Runner hubby actually ran yesterday his W1R3 of the classic NHS C25k, as he revisits running after several injuries. So I cannot call myself the only runner in the family anymore. In fact, after I started running 2 years ago, hubby started running again (but he used to be a cross country runner and is still super-fit, unlike me), but also teenage son started running. So happy to call ourselves a runner family now.
Keep on keeping on everyone.
