Well done. I started a few weeks ago after a year out and an injury to my knee. So pleased with myself as wk5 run 3 coincided with the parkrun this morning and my time was 38.23. Having done it before , you know you can do it which I found made it all easier. Good luck.
A HUGE welcome back and a glorious new sunrise ??? on happier, sunnier days to come:)You've already popped into Catch-Up Corner and we look forward to seeing your progress and your running experiences
If you need a quick recap...do please check out the pinned post on How to Run C25K...Take it slow and steady, it has been a while x
Well done on starting back up. I'm hoping to start back up next week after having 5 weeks off. I have been working 13 hour days as a student nurse and then working my normal job too for the income. I don't get paid for my nursing placement which I don't mind as I'm learning. What I do miss though is the exercise, I've been too tired to run/jog so can't wait to get back to it. I'm still a newbie too, only started running a few months prior to this 5 weeks off. I hope your mum remains well and good luck with the running again π€
Thank you so much, good luck with your nursing, you deserve a medal and a huge pay rise. ππJust completed Wk 1 Run 1 this morning , it was brilliant to be back out after such a long break. I've really missed it X
After completing C25K I had to take 3 months or so off due to an ankle injury. Took quite a bit of effort to get back out there and even then I found the first week or two hard, then it all just seemed to fall back into place and I was back to where I was before the injury.
Hope the same is true for you and it comes back easily for you. Hope all is good in the future for you and your mum. Good luck.
I learnt the hard way to invest I. Some good running shoes rather than some cheap βso-calledβ running shoes ! Great to hear the first run is done ! Onwardsβ¦..
Lessons learned. I had a good experienced mentor to keep me right. Plus a few years of sports under my belt when younger and dafter π so feel your pain literally. My right knee will attest to that π
I've been there several times. I've completed the program more than once, done two Races for Life and gone back to the beginning yet again at the end of last year. I finished week 7 again yesterday. It doesn't matter how many times you start again as long as you keep coming back. Once you've experienced the health and wellbeing once you know you've just got to get out there. Good luck.
Yes, you are so right. Missed it so much. Knowing you can achieve it is also half the battle. First run went well despite my dodgy knee complaining ππ
