Hi everyone, hope you’re enjoying your Sunday morning whether you’re running, have run or yet to go…
I have been inspired by a post this morning regarding music…I know plenty of people like to run ‘naked’ (without music!) but others, like me, find it difficult to listen to myself & my breathing when I’m running so music is a must!!!
So…because it hasn’t been done for a while, I thought I’d put together a new playlist with the help of all of you…we need a theme so I thought because it’s the Queens BIG year we could make it a royal theme??? Once we’ve got plenty of suggestions I’ll pop it on Spotify for everyone to share….so…if you can think of a song with a good beat to run to that fits the theme, I want to hear your suggestion!!
Looking forward to hearing what all your musical tastes are!!
Happy running peeps xx

I don't like the rhythm of music to define my pace.........so an amusing bit of dated nonsense called I Love the Queen by Jacques Higelin should get you started.
I rarely run with music, but if I do I have my entire music collection on my phone with everything from Thomas Tallis to Jimi Hendrix via Burning Spear, Kokoroko and Amy Winehouse.
I love running to music. It keeps my spirits up and my legs moving. My run list got me to 10k before injury struck. Viva la Vida from Coldplay is one of my favourites and the words are sort of appropriate. It’s also quite uplifting .
When I have used to run to The Sex Pistols people thought there was a nutter on the loose. I would be yelling out random lyrics at inappropriate times whilst scowling and heavy breathing 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Great idea Mummycav. For the "keep it slow" runners like me then my top 3 are Fridays Child by Will Young, Atlantic Avenue by The Average White Band & for a very uplifting (almost encourages a last 2 minute sprint finish!) Three More Days by Ray LaMontagne.
You could always finish with the final track of Queen's A Night at the Opera, on which Brian May plays God Save The Queen. (Which he famously played on the roof of Buckingham Palace in 2002.)
