Restarting C25K

So 2019 I completed C25K and started running at least 3xweek for 30mins but then COVID hit the world. I got lazy and as much as I wanted to run, I wasn't focussed. Doing intermittent runs here and then I stopped. Fast forward to 2022 and decided to start running again especially as I turn 50 this year and have a fabulous holiday planned. So I'm going to start at the beginning and get back to running 30mins with ease. I'm on Wk3 and loving it. I know I could possibly start from Wk5 or 6 but I like this approach, reminiscing about when I completed C25K and how each run made me feel. So I am not a newbie but feel a different sense of achievement completing each week. I am out 2nite for run 1 of Wk3 and cant wait. Happy running everyone!

Welcome back to the forum and well done on your progress.

Very wise to start from the beginning. All any of us can do after a lay off is to go out for a gentle run and see what we can comfortably manage, then use C25k or something similar to rebuild stamina and resistance to injury.

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.
