I just logged in to find you here with those kind looks upon your face. I should have kept on with the app I should have kept up the routine, if I'd have known for just one second what my blood pressure would be...Just done my first run since graduating back in.....May??? Shameful isn't it? Oh dear. Well Mamma Mia here I go again. Week 1 run 1 with Sarah Millican. Deja vu all over again! Not a word of criticism from her though. Which was nice.

It's a learning opportunity! you know that you can graduate, so you can run the programme with confidence. Whilst you are jogging about, spend some time analysing the reasons that running fell by the wayside and develop strategies for ensuring it doesn't happen again. Do you need routine, a challenge, more discipline, accountability or company (ie Parkrun)?Once you have the answers then you will be able to build in strategies for success. Like anything else- you gotta use it or lose it!

Good luck out there

Welcome back.

One of the main reasons why people stop running is that they don't actually enjoy it........

..fair enough, it is not for everyone.........but for many, slowing down to the recommended easy conversational pace not only makes it much easier but also much more enjoyable.

Counterintuitively, it is this slow pace that builds your aerobic base, required for running further or faster.........but that is for the future. Stick to a pace at which you can speak aloud, clear ungasping sentences as you run to maximize adaptation, then you can work on speed, if you want, after you graduate.

As a lapsed graduate, you may find it useful to browse the FAQ Posts which give basic information about a whole range of running based topics. healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Enjoy your journey.

Welcome back! I had to redo C25K last Autumn after injury. The second time through you know what's coming.

Once I was confident I'd properly got over the injury, I got into the habit on the second time through of running the last minute or so of each run a bit faster than the rest of it. I found I hadn't lost the basic level of fitness I'd gained the first time through and needed the little extra bit of a challenge.
