That sounds rather dramatic doesn't it for someone who has just repeated W4 R1 but I am so pleased (and amazed) with myself!
I 'should' have finished Week 4 last week and be into 5 this week but I have had a niggling calf pain and that mixed with my usual 'I can't do this and will give up and I'm a failure' self I so very nearly gave up and stayed in bed this morning. I never slept much last night due to my usual wait for the alarm mode and for 1/2 an old pence would have stayed in bed...
HOWEVER, my new and improved 'Let's just do this'! me decided to reappear and that along with the thought of never posting with you lovely lot again, spurred me into action and I went on my merry way!
I was a little apprehensive after not having run W4 for 5 days but I was surprisingly ok! Armed with my rather old hat music collection - which I struggled in my complete lack of skill in anything technical get onto my iPhone. (AKA hubby's old cast off) The first song was Phil Collins 'Against All Odds' or something but this was too slow and mournful to get going to... I fast forwarded to 'Big Time' Peter Gabriel and off I shot!
HURRAH and HUZZAH!!!!!!!
Good luck everyone! If I can do it and keep going - so can you!!!!!!
Hi Lucy, well done for getting back in and completing the first run for week 4. Sounds like it all went well! I find that my mind is constantly struggling with 'I love this running lark' to thinking 'this is too hard and may be I will give up' Somehow though I just feel the need to keep going. I think from what other people post, running seems to be a mental fight as well as a physical one. Keep going , we will do it and each run is a challenge achieved! 😀
I think you are right - the mental challenge, especially for me, is tremendous. Physical health can be improved fairly easily if only we can get our heads straight i.e. healthy eating/drinking/exercise!
