Hi all,

I haven't run since early May and knee pain. Today my physio said I could start again. I've been keeping up my 10000 steps a day but haven't run at all in over 2 months. Should I start back at week 1? Happy to start again but not sure if that's the right thing to do.

Hope everyone is well 😀

Hey you!! Hiya barmybit.. great to see you back.. wow what a long time on the IC .. not good I know.. was roughly same amount of time I was out with stress fracture.. drove me crazy!!!

I just went out as soon as I got home from physio..after her advice of taking it easy and seeing how a slow run would go... was on week 8 when I left off..and was totally astounded to be able to just carry on from there..

That was roughly 7 weeks ago..and I've managed to keep up my 3 runs a week and progress to a 5k a week over the last 5

Everyone is different..just get out and see how it feels :) good luck x

Great news Barmy , you must be chomping at the bit to get going again ! :-)

Why not start with just a gentle jog and see how you feel ? Just listen to your body and you will know whats comfortable for you .

Good Luck and good to see you back ! :-) xxx

Thanks Sparky and Poppy - it's great to see you both still here. Your comments inspired me, so I stuck me trusty trainers on and went out and did week 3. I did a different route than previously and I must stay it was bloody hard! Legs felt OK (phew) but breathing was shot. No panic though, this is what it was like first time round and I did manage to graduate. I will take it easy.

It's good to be back :D

Ah that's great ! Good for you !

I am sure things will fall back into place soon, its perfectly understandable it all seems a bit strange after 2 months out .

Yep, keep at it and take it easy, Barmy

Good to see you back on here ! :-) xxx

Welcome back! Yes I think it's the breathing that takes the hit when you've been away for a bit but glad you are injury free and back running 😀

I had nine weeks off after an injury sustained in week 5. Went back to the beginning and nearly caught up again now. Easier second time round but I can still feel it in my bad leg so having to be careful not to over do it. Good luck to you.
