Hi Guys, not been on here for a while. Had a knee operation, and out of action until fully healed, another 6 weeks the surgeon advised. 😱 even then I have to take it slowly… can’t wait to get my running trainers back on.
I’m loving my green sock I have to wear for two weeks.. 🧦 🤪
Feeling 🤔…. Frustrated..

As someone who could not run for the best part of a year, because of a knee injury, I sympathise with you. Not being able to run is very frustrating but you can still work on your fitness and strength. While I would hesitate to suggest that you exercise your injured leg (your consultant or physio should do that) you can do upper body and core work that will benefit your running when you restart.
After injury or surgery it really is worth going right back to the beginning of C25K to rebuild your resistance to injury and impact nice and slowly, also bearing in mind that old injuries are always susceptible to raising their ugly heads again, so take care.
Hey, Thank you for your advice it’s very helpful. I will be starting right back at the beginning definitely. I actually sprained my ankle on the other foot was a grade 3.injury. 3 months ago, it still hurts..and swollen! I’m a bit worried about that.. waiting for physio.. So injury’s on each leg… not good. ☹️ It may be a while before I’m running again.
When I very lightly turned my ankle my physio mate (everybody should have one) suggested cycling, as that keeps the joint mobile, improves blood flow and hence recovery, while not imposing load bearing stresses and builds supportive musculature.
The same can be said about knees.......as long as your consultant approves.
Good to see you back ! You have already had some great advice from IannodaTruffe so nothing to add there, but good to hear your on the right side of the operation.
Handled carefully I'm sure you'll be back when ready !
