Had complete wk9 r1 a couple of weeks ago- then caught the lurgy. So finally today did a 20min run and found it hard.

Not sutwhether to go back to wk7 or start wk9 again. Should have graduated by now and done a park run!

So frustrating!

I don't think you need to go back to week 7. You don't lose a lot of condition in two weeks. I reckon set out to do W9R2 but don't beat yourself up if you don't manage first time. And by all means go to parkrun - you don't have to run the whole way, run what you can and walk the rest.

Thanks for responding- think i’ll do that; try wk9 r2 but take it slowly

Sorry to hear that you have been unwell- and good to hear you are mending. 😄

I think you just need to allow yourself a bit more time to be fully recovered. There is better enough for every day life... and there is better enough to run. Be kind to yourself and recover fully. I would then go out with an open mind and see how long you can run for comfortably and let that be where you pick up from. 😃

I have learnt not to make plans ahead about what stage of running I will be at by what date, because my experience is that life gets in the way! If you don’t think “I will have graduated by… “ then you won’t be disappointed if it doesn’t pan out that way. 😏

Thank you for that very kind reply! I take your point about not over-planning. Will run v easy and try to be more patient..!👍

Think that’s called a practice run Auden especially after a couple of weeks off with the lurgy. It’s your call really as this is your C25K. You could try the run again & see how you fair? Please don’t be so hard on yourself after all you ran for 20 mins, that in itself is awesome especially if you look back to W1. What ever you decide, it will be right for you👍🏻

Good comeback run... we beat the symptoms of a virus before it’s completely gone, so it was almost certainly still affecting you. Your call where you go, maybe do one week 7 run for confidence then a week 8 and the two remaining 9s?

Thank you👍 I’ll run it again in another couple days - very very very slowly😀
