Wow! First 25 minute run in this heat? Guaranteed tough run, but as you are an awesome new runner you kicked its butt anywayโฆ superb running.
I find the sunlight and humidity to be a bigger issue than actual heat, both of those are way up here too! It is definitely harder in the summer heat, which is why they have the marathons in spring and autumn. Those that run through the summer and winter tend to be a little quicker come the better weather. For me now, summer is a time to keep ticking over and run some nice relaxed slow stuffโฆ any session a plan throws at me with words like speed or tempo in gets replaced by a relaxed run of the same distance.
You got this nowโฆ next time it will be easier, and the nice cool more autumnal weather should be around for your graduation.
Congratulations on completing run 3 of week 6 in the heat of the afternoon, you are now OFFICIALLY a RUNNER, onwards and upwards to week 7. ๐ ๐๐พ
Very well done getting your first 25 minutes run done in 25 degrees, and yes, I certainly find it harder .I don't know if you can but in these temperatures can you run early in the morning before it heats up too much ?
I ran at 5pm yesterday in 27 degrees ๐ฅต. It was soooo tough and felt like the longest 5k I had ever run! I kept crossing the road to run in the shade. The nice cool shower afterwards was lovely though ๐Well done for finishing Week 6 ๐๐ป๐๐ป youโre nearly there now ๐โโ๏ธ
