On mentioning to some people at the gym this morning that it would be my w6r3 tomorrow all the negative comments came.....if your legs ached on R2 then you will never complete R3 I wouldn't bother if I was you. Well thank you for the encouragement NOT. A little bit worried now but I will be doing my best at 5.30am in the morning wish me luck

Totally ignore them, they’re talking gobbledygook! As a self confessed gym addict, it can be hard to acknowledge that other types of exercise exist. You know better! You’ll smash it, go and show them. 😊😊😊

Yeah but you’re doing it and they’re not! Feel good about that and ignore their ‘uninformed’ negative comments. You’ve got this 👍🏻

As already said , you don't need luck !You have successfully completed all runs so far so the program has made you ready for this next run !

Take it slowly and you will be fine !

Prepare well for your run.

This FAQ Post expands on the theme. healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Stretching immediately after every run, nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/h... while muscles are still warm and supple, pulls out contractions, avoiding carrying tensions into the next run and also improves recovery by improving blood flow, as recommended in the guide to the plan.

Many people do not hold their stretches for long enough or put enough effort in. Hold post run stretches for 30 seconds and make sure the pull is strong enough to be on the verge of discomfort.

Relax and enjoy it. Don't make it a battle.

Ignore the naysayers. Trust the programme. You have prepared yourself for a 25 minute run.

Remember slow is good. We can't all be Bolt or Kipchoge.

Hope it went well. Some people just suck the joy out of life. Hope you proved them wrong and next time put your fingers in your ears and sing loudly to drown out the negativity.

Ah the guys at the gym are just Wanabees.

The programme prepares you well. Take it steady and go smash it. You know you can do it.

Take their negativity and turn it around. You've done so we’ll to get this far and let their pessimism spur you on, we all know it gets tougher, that’s what it’s supposed to do, and you are clearly rising to the challenge and will succeed. When you’ve graduated you should show them your badge and thank them for contributing to your achievement. Keep going - YOU'RE DOING GREAT 👍

Never understand why some people take delight in being negative. But it's the reason I didn't tell anyone I was doing the programme (apart from my partner) until I'd finished. anyway, I'm guessing you've run now, so I hope it went well.

Thank you. It did go well though I nearly gave up,someone I knew asked if they could join me just for today and jogged along with me he kept me going. He has also asked if he could join me next Friday dont think he likes me going round the park before it gets light. My biggest nemesis would you believe is my husband he is a former body builder who hasnt done any exercise since his late wife died 20 years ago. The most he does is from the office to the car

Ignore them. You'll do just fine. You've done really well to get so far. 5.30am? That's an achievement in itself! 👏

Don’t listen to them! Stretching after your run will help your muscles not to ache so much afterwards. 😀
