I don't have much time to be inter-webbing today and haven't caught up on the forum in the past few days but I see a few of you are stepping off the injury couch, we have some more graduates and it seems a lot of people are discovering the love of the long, slow run...
Happy running folks - wish me well on my 10 mile journey tomorrow...
PS. I'm writing this here now so I'm forced to get up and do it in the morning!
PPS. Mrs Aussie did W1R2 yesterday in Bushy Park and will do R3 when I get back from my run tomorrow!
PPPS. Sorry if I confused people, this is a training run... yes, I am crazy... My races are 12 and 18 Oct.
Ooo that's a llooonnnnggggg way Aussie. Take it steady and enjoy yourself. Looking forward to reading your post tomorrow. Well done to MrsAussie for w1r2
Good luck Aussie, it has been great following your training and there's probably not many running tomorrow who are as well prepared as you. I look forward to reading about it when you have recovered a bit, and seeing your medal.
Good luck to MrsAussie too, we will be with her all the way to week 9 and beyond!
Thanks Mrs S... alas, no race or medal tomorrow - this is a training run... although I will be having a HUGE breakfast afterwards worthy of a gold medal..
The 8.2 mile race with the fancy medal is on the 12th October... and some more bling arrives on the 16th after a 10K race... the big one is Feb 22nd with a Half Marathon and some serious bling...
Good luck Aussie, it has been great following your training and there's probably not many running tomorrow who are as well prepared as you. I look forward to reading about it when you have recovered a bit, and seeing your medal.
Good luck to MrsAussie too, we will be with her all the way to week 9 and beyond!
Good luck for your 16Ker tomorrow, Aus! You'll ace it! Can't wait to hear how it goes. I'll be posting later on about my run this morning; I've had hardly any time for catching up this week either.
Seems you've done a good job of inspiring Mrs Aussie too; hope she's enjoying C25K as much as you did!
She's learning to love it... She finds (like I did) that although it's tough to get out there to begin with, the feeling of finishing each run is super rewarding... so now she knows to remember what it feels like when you're done rather than worrying about how you feel about starting...
Yay go Aussies ! What would you have said to someone if they had said to you six months ago, " Aussie, on the 24th August, you will be running 10 miles ?"
You have done amazingly well, , you are a shining example of how this programme grabs you by the scruff of the neck and propels you into being able to run distances that we could only dream of when we first started .
Looking forward to your write up tomorrow, Come on the Aussies xxx
Enjoy the run Aussie - head up on the hills nice and steady - seems you are more on my home patch than even DanZ so can imagine your route. Mrs Aussie should join in the BUshey Park Park Run - it is a nice flat course and would be easy to do as her C25K journey.
Enjoy yourself Aussie. You'll be fine but just take your time as it's a long way. If the scenery is nice then that's half the battle. If it's a clear day that is. Hopefully it will be!
Gosh you have come so far, such a great example of how C25K can change lives. Good luck for tomorrow. Has Mrs A tried to nick your Garmin yet!?!? Good luck to Mrs A also.
Thanks to all of you... I felt I had you cheering me on today... I've just posted my 10 mile experience from today for you all... I feel that right here in this forum I can ramble on about my running in a way I can't in real life - people just think "oh yeah, 10 miles, eh?"...
