Week 5 / run 1 revisited

Although this is the 4th time I have worked my way through C25k, I found I had forgotten where the runs went after week 4, so looked them up. And I thought it said I had to run for 5, then 3, then 5, then 3, then 5 again. After a huge panic at all that running and what a jump it was, I realised today, when I set off, that the 3 minute bits were of course walking. Phew!!!🥵doh!!

And it was ok!! I’d run for 2 lots of 5 mins last week, in all 3 runs, so it wasn’t too bad at all. In fact almost easy. I usually compare my run with my daughter and we moan about hard bits and cheer about PBs etc ( although she is getting many more of them than I, as I tend to run where there aren’t segments yet). But she has managed to hurt her knees and has struggled up to run 2 of last week and hasn’t run since due to pain. She has now got herself done knee supports, and has been doing exercises recommended to her, so hopefully she will rejoin me. She was so chuffed at getting her mojo back after over 2 years and then I think she pushed herself too fast too quickly. She was worried she was slower than before but has put weight on over the lockdowns too and all this has contributed to knee pain.

But I have been a good girl and taking it slowly and steadily so no issues so far .. touch wood 🤞

I did say if she managed to get out there tomorrow I will repeat today’s run and wait for her to catch up. Kind mummy. 😁

Well done on you progress so far, good to see that you are encouraging your daughter. Keep up the excellent work.

Unfortunately her knees are not improving and the support bandages were rubbish when they arrived so they went back. We have rubbed various stuff into them, massaged round them, done gentle exercises, rested them, soaked in the bath with Epsom salts...... nothing is helping.🥴

She is so annoyed

If nothing is helping and if she hasn't already. I would suggest that she makes and appointment with her GP.

Kind Mummy or putting off run 3????? Ha ha ha ha - I almost envy you the anticipated high of cracking the 20 minute run again.

No I AM being kind, I’m was just so pleased she had started again and she is so despondent now.

I’m looking forward to run 3, but I’m leaving run 2 today as I having a banging headache, since 4pm yesterday, which I cannot shift !!
