Didn't have time to post this yesterday, as we had friends over soon after I took the photo. So keeping true to my promise - here is my photo of my Week 5, run 2.
The run went great as always, was a little bit of a shock when Laura said we would be doing 2 x 8min runs !...but I managed it and kept nice and steady. I wasn't so sweaty as all my other runs....mind you, I did have a nice breeze on me all the time while running on beach, which I loved !!!
Well tomorrow morning is week 5, run 3.....so I will post soon as I have done.
Keep safe everyone and keep running !

How slow can you go? This is my first post. I’ve now completed wk4 VERY slowly. I asked my husband how slow does a run have to be before it’s not running? I’m 71 and this is my first attempt at becoming a runner in more than 50+ years. So far so good. 2nd into 3rd week the worst with seagulls leg ache but rehydrate with all the good advice from contributors to these posts and so I face wk 5. I’m considering redoing wk 4 to increase my stamina. Is that a good idea. Your wisdom please!!
Yes. I’ve found the breathing fine - it’s the heavy legs that have been the problem. But going very slowly has made it possible to ‘run’. Going very slow is still running??
So maybe I’m doing ok. I could say that- and only slightly breathing heavily. Maybe all my years of yoga are showing the benefit there. I’ll keep on with the hydrating. It certainly made a huge difference at the end of week 2. Plus some judicious use of ibuprophen. Thanks.
Well done, I did mine yesterday too. Let us know how you get on tomorrow for W5/R3.. I’m also doing it tomorrow. Am now trying to plan an easier route! 😂
Fab photo, what a great place to run! Good luck with your next run - as the runs get longer, it's about mental attitude as much as anything, and you've got this! 😊
