Hello lovely people; I've been running C25K for over 12 months and have worn out my Sketchers running shoes nearly. Bought a pair of Salomon running shoes which I though were supposed to be the dogs. Been out in them twice and today felt a twinge lower left back and it has not gone away. So I think the new running shoes might be the guilty party; don't seem to provide that cushioning for road running.
I am in no way anything like an expert and am just an old lad just trying to keep healthy, but I absolutely love it.
The variety of running shoes out there is nothing but confusing so has anyone any suggestions that might suit my needs.
I do about 4 miles running/walking every three or four days and always on the road; quiet tarmacked country lanes.
I just found my Sketchers so comfy but ofcourse the style, that I had, is no longer in production/trendy enough whatever; fashion eh!!
Thanks in anticipation; have attached an image of my older Sketchers and new Salomon running shoes for reference.
Thanks so much for all your support

Hi, the best way to find the correct running shoes for you would be to have a gait analysis in a dedicated running shop then see what they advise , A shoe that's good for one person could be totally wrong for you !
What Instructor57 said AlfaRomeoSpider - you can't buy the right running shoes for you on the basis on what suits other people.
I need to replace my shoes, and saw a very popular model with 40% off in the sales recently. Tried them on, desperate to love them, and my feet went "Nope, not playing." I even went back with my current shoes and running socks to compare and double-check. Guess what? The dream bargain still felt wrong. So I left them, and hope they make someone else's feet very happy.
I agree with the previous comments, I'm lucky enough to live near Loughborough University and there is a fantastic shop in the town which has been going for over 30 years, the staff there are so knowledgeable and it doesn't matter to them if you are a new runner or a semi pro, you get the same care and attention. Hope you are able to find something as good near where you live.
