W5R3 Done and really happy

Out early for my run. The weather was kind today , lovely and cool compared to the last couple of weeks. I have to say when Laura told me to run a shot of icy fear run through my body but in a split second my sensible side kicked in and told me that I had done everything to prepare for this run to the letter and that I had this..I was running lovely and slow down the lanes , my rhythm was comfortable and then...... Two gals were walking down the lane towards me , peacock feathers came out and I sped up ! Luckily enough sensible side kicked in again and a voice in my head said slow, slow ,slow.... you have nothing to prove to them ! The rest of the run was very nice and I just feel proud that I managed to complete it .

Very well done........ especially reining in the desire to speed up........vanity is responsible for many injuries.

Stay nice and slow for W6R1.........it catches out more people than any other run in the programme.

Yes I have read that about the W6R1 run.... But am not sure why! Is it because you do shorter runs again and use too much energy too fast?..

One twenty minute run does not a runner make.......... overconfidence is the main culprit.Overall, it will be your longest workout to date.

Yes I have just been reading past posts on people who have been caught out by that run..I will make sure I go my usual slow pace. I can understand the over confidence part and we are all chuffed/amazed we could run that far . Saying that I know I am just on the start of a journey, I am off the couch so to speak... But slowly , slowly tiger (maybe tortoise! ) are words I know count on this journey.

Congratulations on completing run 3 of week 5, that is a milestone run with C25K, onwards and upwards to week 6 run 1 but be careful about that run as it catches out some people with the interval walks and runs after the non stop 20 minutes of W5R3 which you have just ran 🏃🏾, take it especially slowly, if you do you won't have any problems whatsoever with it. 😊

Thanks for the heads up. I shall run it as slow as I can and treat the run with the respect it deserves and in return I hope it goes well!

Definitely run your own race. I’m loving your self control though and being brave enough to run outside. I’m not there yet. It was bad enough when I was only walking around the park and having other walkers lap me and I’d too feel the urge to speed up but couldn’t 🤣

I am lucky that I live in the country and I also get up very early to run..... Unfortunately so do the people with horses and those naughty farmers in their big tractors that can see me over the hedgerows.... Have you thought of running around the streets as you will not pass the same people again and again , so they have no idea how far or fast you have run?

Well done completing week 5 run 3 that's a milestone run , You will probably be smiling all day 😬

As already mentioned, be mindfull of the interval runs in week 6, they catch people out
