W8r1 ... more difficult than I expected

I found wk8 r1 more difficult than I thought it would be. Possibly because I didn't have a great sleep. Possibly because I forgot all about the Toxic 10 so those first 10 mins just felt like a struggle. Also my watch told me I was going slightly too fast so I slowed down toward the end. Anyway I got into my stride but it's been a while since I haven't enjoyed my run. I think I'll try a new route next time as many have recommeded on here.

Well, you beat a tough run too, so that’s one huge positive from today’s run. Great job.

Hope so CressidaB!

You still did it tho! It knocked me a bit too! Over thought it which made the first 10mins horrible, I'm hoping run 2 is much better😊😊

Have you done run 2 yet? As I said to a another runner - I figured out that as I've gotten fitter I've run a little faster so I'm tiring towards the end. Today when I got to the point where I estimated 28 mins would take me I was gutted to find I still had 5 mins to run!!!!

I did it last night! I had a girls weekend and couldn't face it for 2 days. Went for it last night and did a forest trail. Again I found the first 10mins tough, really having to force myself to slow down so I'm not exhausted at the end! I would focus on the begining, slow and steady and you will get there! I also had a look at the playlist I use, the last song of my run is what doesn't kill you makes you stronger 🤭😂 it really helps me keep pushing for the last few minutes ☺️☺️Keep going hard to believe we have got this far!

Hahaha I love the thought of running to that. I tend to listen to podcasts. Incredible that we have only 4 days to graduate isn't it?!!!

I'm buzzing to get it done now ☺️☺️

It's the first 10 mins which can be really hard before you hit your stride. I found a really good explanation here:

No problem - I had to look it up when I saw others referring to it a.couple of weeks ago 😏

Not sure where you’re based but in the UK it’s been hot over the last few weeks and this has certainly made my runs feel a hell of a lot tougher! I also suffer with the toxic 10, although it seems to be closer to 15mins for me - Maybe it’s because I’m a slow runner!

Yes I'm in the UK and it has been hot! Today was lovely though ... running in the rain. I still find it quite hard. Toxic 10 didn't affect me today but I've figure out that as I've gotten fitter I've run (slightly) faster so I'm tiring towards the last 8 mins of the 28min run. Still ... I'm delighted to be running for 28mins!!!! 👍
