Hi everyone,
I've just finished week 4, but im struggling for ideas for what to listen to when im running. What do you listen to? Music, podcasts, audio books? 🙂🙂🙂
The song of the birds, the wind in the trees and the splash of the river.
I have not been that clever to listen to Laura and music at the same time but plan to on Thursday . I will listen to music . I need to find five songs that will keep me going and are upbeat , George Ezra Paradise will be one.
When I was doing C25K I mostly listened to music radio in the background. After graduation, when I no longer had to listen out for the trainer's instructions, I switched to spoken word podcasts.
Spotify has some C25K playlists or you could create your own with your favourite tracks. I prefer to listen to music and sing along (in my head!) when I’m running. It helps to me to focus and also forget that I’m running sometimes! I guess it depends on your own preference.
Spotify play list or the radio
The birds, the dogs barking at the squirrels, the rain (hopefully) the wind in the leaves (almost all the time) children laughing in the playgrounds, boy racers destroying their tyres and cylinders, and on occasion Coach Bennett on Nike run club.
Dr. Michael Mosley’s podcasts, Just One Thing… were interesting, scientific ideas on doing a different daily thing for a healthy lifestyle. Each episode is around 14 minutes.Other than those, my regular go-tos are the eclectic Gilles Peterson Show or the ever ebullient Craig Charles Show, both downloaded from BBC Sounds. Three hours each, plenty of good music.
although I love listening to podcasts when walking I've found I don't like them when running. I've experimented with different genres of music, and motown is the best for me. it's the right beat for my stride and is nicely upbeat! I use the "feel good Friday " playing on Spotify.
Music through c25k but now I mix it up. Sometimes nothing, othertimes a wide range of genre of music, nike playlists, and lately tried podcasts but prefer these for long runs. On c25k I listened to the same music all the time and found when I heard the tunes at other times they made me want to run 😊
I download programs off BBC Sounds, always keeps me going and stops me thinking about anything hurting!
I love a podcast. Gives me something to focus on rather than potentially wanting to stop and walk. I credit the positivity and inspiration of Gareth Southgate on the High Performance podcast in getting me to my first 5k!
I love podcasts, I listen to upbeat or funny ones, my favourites are feel better live more, happy place, self care club and Chris and Rosie Ramsey. I find they distract me and I feel like I'm running with a couple of friends who are chatting away but I don't need to join in 😂
