The one thing I haven’t got right yet is what to listen to. I’ve tried Radio 2 🥴. Radio 4. Tried podcasts but so far all hugely depressing! Dabbled with an audio book but to be fair it was a freebie and rubbish. Any suggestions? BTW I’m a 66 year old lady so heavy metal doesn’t do it for me
What do you listen to?: The one thing I haven’t... - Couch to 5K
What do you listen to?
As a mature lady runner, I have enjoyed ‘John Bishop in conversation with’...... I also like Runners World. ‘Human Race’, lots of runners stories. Desert Island Discs was better than I had expected too!
The BBC do lots of free podcasts, comedy, sport, drama, etc etc.
I am new to podcasts. I need to explore a bit more! Yes I’ve got Desert Island but for some reason Kirsty irritates me 🤷🏼♀️
Thanks!!! Helpful.
I'm a big fan of audiobooks. I use audible and buy so many tokens a month which you then exchange. There are oodles of novels from the classics through to new releases and narrated by many great voices. If you are a reader I am sure you will find books that you will enjoy.
Sometimes a really good book is the impetus for me to go for a run. No run, no book!
Podcasts are also good, and I am a radio 4 addict- maybe try Friday night comedy
So helpful! Thank you. I have a number of books on my “to do” list. Maybe this is the time!
What gets your foot tapping or makes you dance around the kitchen?
I have fast paced dance music with good choruses I can sing/shout along to as they keep my pace and motivation up 😉
Give me an example? What’s your favourite?
Some of my faves... bearing in mind they probably won't be your kind of thing but they make me mooooove!!
Becky Hill/gecko - Overdrive
Fisher - Losing It
Offaiah - Trouble
Skrillex - Breakin a Sweat
All are artist - song. 😉
Can you make your own music play list on your phone?
I don’t know! I’ll ask someone who does 😳
If you have a smartphone you can for sure... just need a little tuition 👍😉
Great ask someone, I use an iPhone and have Apple Music, when I hear a song playing on the Radio that I like, I search for it on Apple Music and put it on my running playlist. I love having a great playlist tailored to my taste to listen to when I run, then when I get tired of a song I deleted it an replace with something new as and when.
I sing, as daft as it sounds it really motivates me and keeps my mind off how much further I have to go xx
