W7 R2 - Disaster! --- Complete :-)

About 3 minutes into my 25min run my legs turned to Lead. Had to cut to a walk. Recovered, tried again, same thing. I continued around my short route running a bit walking a bit and abandoned the run.

I blame 25,000 steps in Steel Toe-Cap boots, at my part-time Caretaker job, over the weekend.

Will try again today. I've started - so I'll finish.

Thanks for all the support on here

Heavy legs is often a symptom of dehydration !Take a day or 2 rest and make sure your fully hydrated .

Then take it even slower !

As a runner you should aim to drink 2.5 to 3 litres a day 👍

Not a disaster - it's a practice run! 😉

Try drinking a pint of water the evening before your run. It works wonders for lead legs. 😊

Never a disaster MrB, just a practice run! Lead legs is often because of poor hydration so make sure you drink plenty of water every day. Also, did you maybe go off too fast and just run out of steam? If so, slow down as much as you can, speed can come later.

Problem was partly having to work on rest days. Dehydration probably as factor too.

I have been signed off so long I am not sure I would remember what to do re: work. Yes dehydration is not good. I am sure you will be raring to go soon. I have to work up to a run so bed day today and run day later. I haven't the energy at the mo. I have to wait for my body to top up my energy levels.
