Consolidating at 20 minutes

Finally did a run with the sun shining this morning!

This was my 4th run at 20 minutes but only my 2nd outdoors as I did the other 2 on a treadmill due to the weather! My times have been consistent (3 seconds quicker than last time today) and today’s run felt a teeny bit easier than the run I did on Monday.

I am going to do one more 20 minute run to get 3 outdoor runs under my belt as they are definitely harder (hills!) and then move up to 22 minutes. Desperate to get back to the 30 minutes but slow and steady wins the race!

Looking ahead at the forecast not sure the view on my 3rd outdoor run is going to be as good as this 🥴

The Great British Weather is our friend. 🤣

If you want to increase, follow the 10% per week rule. 20 mins this week, 22 the next, then 24½, 27, and 30.

Or you could do the C25K runs from Weeks 6 to 9.

Definitely jinxed it - had a huge thunderstorm yesterday afternoon 😂

The 10% rule is what i’ll be following if all goes to plan. C25K is amazing, but i’ve been there done that and I’ve gotten this far without it so i’m going to continue going solo!

That’s good! I love 20 minute runs just enough to know you’ve been out and run but not so much you come home achey and tired,

It’s weirdly a nice amount of time isn’t it? Enough to work up a sweat without feeling absolutely exhausted!

Exactly

It's my "easy morning run" distance. I actually do a little over 3km in about 18 minutes, then walk home. I find it wakes me up mentally and physically for the rest of the day.

Lovely pic, so nice to be out running under that sky! Slow and steady finishes the app too 🙂
