W7R1 - Bad run :(

Today was hard. I had an issue with my podcast and fitness app when I started and it seemed to scupper my whole run. I did complete it but haven't felt that bad since about week 4. I wasn't running faster or pushing harder than usual, it just felt difficult today. My fitness app said I'd burned 357 calories, which is my highest yet but boy, did I feel that today. Even my post-run stretches felt tough today. Maybe I'm just knackered?

Never mind - keep going :)

Well done.

Everything going on in our lives can impact on our performance as a runner. Restedness, hydration and nutrition are at the top of my list of variables that need to be optimised to enable enjoyable running.

Thanks for that. Interesting post. I feel I probably didn't drink enough yesterday and lack of sleep can be a problem at times. I will make a concerted effort to drink more water and get better sleep (this is not always easy). Onwards and upwards!

I swear there are Week 7 techno-gremlins Pigpog , as the same happened to me when I was doing C25K. It's just a blip, follow the advice given by IannodaTruffe and you'll be fine.

Techno-gremlins! First time I've experienced those. I did look at the advice by IannodaTruffe and it made a lot of sense. More fluids for me!

Even the weather can affect a run. A cool dry morning often leads to an easier run than a humid warm showery day.

True, I was very hot in my jacket but I was expecting rain. That may not have helped.

Not every run can be a good one, but there's something good in every run. You got through it, the next will be better 👍🏻😁

I sure hope so. Still looking forward to the next one, despite today's hiccups.
