Hi all. First post! I’m up to my 3rd run of wk 7 and my knee is feeling a bit week. It felt a bit sore after my last run. Any tips on keeping the knee strong?

Knee problems
Have a look at the Strength and Flex forum on HU. I find squats are great. I do them whilst the kettle is boiling or when I have a spare minute. Very simple and easy to fit in to the day.😊

Here’s a few exercises to set you on the right path.
As you have reached w7, it might be time to have a gait analysis at a specialist running shop, if you haven’t already. This might help.

If you are feeling aches that’s fine, but if you are in pain, don’t run through it but seek expert advice.
I’m only on week 5 but have an arthritic knee so am being very careful. I’m taking 2 rest days, doing dynamic stretches before and static after the run, making sure I drink lots of water, taking glucosamine and always raise my leg when sitting. The pain I get is different to my old arthritis pain 😁more of an ache in a different place rather than the stabbing weakness I used to get so something is definitely working! (Unaffected knee seems perfectly happy).
Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress
