Knee pain

Hi all - any advice for knee pain and what causes it? I started week 1 and noticed by run 3 a pain just under my right knee which lasted for a few weeks (felt it a bit when walking) started week 1 again. No issues at all on run 1 - but the next two runs the pain was there again. Is it something that just goes away as you progress? Would a knee support make any difference?

Cheers!

The guide to the plan has advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

I had to stop after 2 weeks when I first started c25k due to knee pain. After resting it and using an ice pack frequently over a couple of weeks I started the NHS strength and flex exercises. Three weeks into that programme I restarted c25k and I've got to week 4 now without any further knee problems - good luck!

I’d got as far as my 2nd consolidation week then had to stop running due to knee pain from an old injury, I decided to take a few weeks off to rest the knee so have since been doing CrossFit training to help strengthen - which seems to be helping. I’m into my 2nd week of rest from running and will probably continue for another week or two. Ultimately rest is important because running can be hard on the knees

I had this and by week3 I couldn't run any more. Physio friend said it was 'tendonitis' caused by tight quads ( too much sitting down working from home!) and recommended leg raises with ankle weights. Worked a treat and running again after 2 weeks. I had pain even when walking but nothing now. Repeated W3R1 run yesterday and all is ok.
