I am on my way

I completed week 1 run 2

Despite surgery my body is starting to move more naturally though it does still feel like my right shoulder wants to pull my body down which does make running more awkward

Like many people during the pandemic I have moved away so although I am on quiet residential roads I miss my lovely quiet peaceful track where I completed Couch to 5K the last time. What I don't miss was having to sprint three quarters of the way around as this dog used to run out of the farms and try to attack my ankle. True story.

Once I turned the final corner though he used to run back to the farm but he considered that straight with his farm on his territory and it was a long straight.

I'd say that farm dog was good motivation to up your pace back then 😅..I've one road like that with several dogs behind gates but if one were to get out I'd definitely be surpassing any personal bests 😂 (hopefully they stay where they're supposed to be!)

Good luck with Couch to 5k take 2 and your continued recovery!

Welcome back to running and well done for doing c25k oh that dog must have made you run fast

Thank you. I had kept up running post graduation but then I was diagnosed with a congenital heart condition so had to stop. In fact I had upped my running Mar - Jun as part of lockdown and it was the worst thing I could have done.

Now I am a novice again. Yes imagine a 5K square with the bottom line being full of farms and as I used to run past he comes out of one of them and starts jumping on the back of my leg growling and snapping so I had to increase my pace which was not good as that is 3K in when I wanted to steady my pace not sprint. It made that last leg tough. I miss it though as no pedestrians, no cars, no junctions but I'll get back again when I am better

Take it steady then and keep well, that dog must have driven you mad, Ive had a few dogs chase m barking and snarling and get quite cross

Indeed I will. I am not on home turf since the surgery so my runs are more residential at the current time. That is my favoured location but not sure when I will be back. He is more of a barker and jump on the back of your legs rather than a snarler.

at least he’s not snarling, I like dogs and have owned many so understand some get more excited round runners than others

Yes he's more get off my land than I am going to hurt you especially as when I turn right away from the farms he runs back home so he clearly sees that long strip as his.

Lived on a farm as a child and we had a jack russell that chased cars off the property

Well done!

Keep up the great work, at least you haven’t got the dog biting at your ankles 🐶

Thank you. Since I have been nobbled by the surgeons he would easily outpace me now. I miss the solitude but I also have to be careful in case I overdo it. Being on the outside of a 5K track may not be wise yet
