I took it slowly, had plenty of fluids beforehand and found somewhere flat-ish. The podcast doesn’t have a half time warning (or maybe I was panting too hard to hear it) so I had a long walk back. Looking forward to the next one. ... fingers crossed!

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.

If you ran today then take your rest day tomorrow, if today was your rest day then crack on! Good luck ☺️

Yes, rest day was yesterday - today went ok. I used the app this time and heard the bell. I slowed down and slowed my breathing down too. Found a flat-ish route which I think helped. Really pleased with how it’s going so far..... going to follow the flex & stretch app on my rest days. I hope it helps....

Great, I’m pleased that the run went well. It takes a few runs to get into the knack of running slowly, but do re watch the videos to keep it fresh in your mind - I still re watched it in week 7&8 because I had a tendency to go off too fast so I needed to remind myself to slow down. Happy running (slow jogging) ☺️

Panting too hard? I'd advise going slowly - focus not on 'running' but on jogging:

Well done. I did w1r1 on monday. Felt a little stiff and sore yesterday but better today. Looking forward to w1r2 shortly. The coaching on the app has the half way alarm.

Thank you Lockdown positive. I found out today using the app instead, with my own music. The bell definitely helped. I’m not sure I have the right music at the moment but it’s been fun searching.

Thanks very much. I did it this morning and really enjoyed it. Could just be a honeymoon period but I'm enjoying it. I might try the stretch and flex too.
