W9R1 wowzer!

I can honestly say that when I started the C25K programme, I had no thoughts about getting to week 9, I just wanted to see if I could "run a bit". I think I was hooked by about week 4 :D

I had a great run this morning, it was a bit cold (2 degrees) and very foggy but it was quiet and peaceful, just me and my music, oh and Jo in my other ear ;) I kept a steady pace and only increased it for the last 60 seconds, even that felt good.

My distance for the 30 minutes was 4.3 Km (2.7 miles). I'm pleased with that.

Now looking forward to Wednesday and the second run

Yes it was a big parky this morning! Unlike you I had no intention of speeding up when Jo said I have 60 seconds left 🤣

I’m running the ‘wrong way round’ my route this week which messes with my head a bit. Do you always run the same route? I’m worried about jinxing things but also I got bored last week 🤪

I have been walking the same route daily since the start of Lockdown last March. I gradually increased the distance until I was happy at 4.5 miles. I walk clockwise one day and anti-clockwise the next. But for my runs I go the same way every time. Mostly because I like to know where I am at different stages of my runs. Obviously I don't know on the first run of the week but then on 2 and 3 I know where I should be roughly finishing.

When I was just walking, sometimes just crossing the road and walking on the other side was enough to mix it up for me (I'm easily pleased) ;)

I’ve had to make my circular route longer since week 5 and when I changed direction for week 7 I didn’t fare too well. Have decided to do that way round again though to get rid of the gremlins in my head about it! If I can’t do it with all the enthusiasm of week 9 then I’ll go back to going anti clockwise!!

Can’t believe I already have a 5k route planned out 🤦‍♀️ 😳🤣

I hadn't got as far as thinking about the 5K but as I still have about 20 minutes to walk when I finish my run just now it will just be a case of running for a bit longer. I'm at 30 minutes but not much over 4 K so I'll work on it 😁
