I had my first vaccine this morning and had sort of decided that I'd probably have to postpone W7 until maybe Thursday or Friday. We came home and I got changed to do my usual daily 4.5 miles brisk walk, then I though what was to stop me doing R1 today, I'd had a break since Friday, so that's what I did, W7R1. It was great and I even managed to put on a spurt for the last 60 seconds.
The worst part was my lace becoming undone just as I started the run. to stop or not to stop, that was the question. I didn't stop as it sort of tucked itself in.
I did 2.13 miles in 25 minutes (3.4 Km) which is a little further than last time so I'm really happy I decided to go for it.
If I need to rest for the next few days, I can still fit the other 2 runs in this week.
Not broken thankfully but badly torn ligament on the top due to how foot twisted as I fell. 😩. I have a big black velcro boot to wear when I walk which is easier said than done at the moment! They did laugh when I said I was walking to a field to do C25K! Wonderful and quick treatment at A&E despite the restrictions they are under. So...won’t be running for a while but that’s fine..I know I can do this and will be back soon!!! In the meantime, I’ll be behind you when you are doing yours as you are (were!) one run ahead of me. So keep me posted and thank you for your good wishes, it’s appreciated x
So glad it's not broken, torn ligaments are nearly as bad as break. I hope it heals well (and soon). Take your time, the C25K will still be here when you can get back to it. xx
What a great day for you Chrimson51 being vaccinated and completed R1 of W7🙌🏼🏃♀️👍🏼. Your making great progress and obviously enjoyed your C25K journey!
I really am enjoying the journey and I'm having fun! If it stops being fun I'll stop doing it. The best bit is I've stopped thinking about what is coming next or thinking I can't possibly do it.
Just had a call from the hospital to say they have looked at my X-ray again (they told me in A&E this would happen after the weekend) and apparently there are tiny fractures in my foot!!! 😱. It is being referred to the fracture clinic but possibly won’t don’t more than tell me to keep wearing the boot...and will take 6 weeks to heal 😩. No running for a couple of months then 🥲...so frustrating x
Oh that is a shame. I was actually thinking about you this morning when I was doing my second W7 run. Just think how much nicer the weather will be when you are able to run again though. xx
Well yes that’s a nice thought!! Thank you for that...feeling very fed up but have just got to do as I’ve been told and rest it no matter how boring and frustrating!!! Well done on your 2nd run!! Very jealous! You have to keep going now to inspire me!! xx
