Sunday is my favourite running day, so I didn't bother with the Mother's Day lie-in. Off out to start Week 7 - never thought I'd get this far.
Actually found this run harder than the previous one, even though both were 25 minutes. However, I seem to have run it slightly faster, which is bizarre. Encouraged by the fact that I could speed up in the last minute.
I listened to a Sarah Millican comedy podcast last night, during which there was a fairly high degree of profanity. However, she was very polite on my run today (!)
For those of you on wildlife watch, I heard 2 owls, saw 4 magpies together (4 for a boy? I should be so lucky!), lots of pigeons, sparrows, a pair of robins, a blackbird and a collared dove. As I finished I also heard what I am already thinking of as "my" woodpecker!
Who knew I could run? It still seems like some sort of weird magic....ππββοΈπββοΈ

Well done, I also ditched the lie in (no chance with my 2 anyway!) and went out just so I can enjoy my βfree Motherβs Day cakeβ at soft play later π wildlife wise, 6 squirrels - two of which tried to run infront/ sabotage me! Enjoy the rest of your day x
Woohoo! well done! I have just completed week 6 ..... who knew that I could run too ....I am pleased I set off at a steady pace though as my self competitive curse is to run faster each time....not sure I would have made it. With a minute to go i loved the sprint at the end .... a real opportunity for celebration!!!
Woohoo indeed! And well done! I also have the nagging feeling that I should be running faster each time but I think "here be dragons" if I carry on like that. Today Sarah said remember it's not about speed but getting the km under the belt. So that's what I'm trying to focus on.
Nevertheless, the sprint at the end is a bit of fun, as you say!
Definitely! My daughter said to me today "you are old, Mum, but that's OK, you are a runner as well". Not sure if that's a compliment or not! She gave me an activity/heart rate monitor/watch for Mother's day - a bit of a change from the usual MD gifts! π
Takes a while to sink in doesnβt it??... I still go to automatically correct people when they talk about me as being a runner ... and then I remind myself I AM allowed to call myself this!!π€£ (albeit a very new one) πββοΈπββοΈ
Excellent! Small runner in training sounds like a new recruit!
Those demons hang onto my heels and I keep trying to shake them off. But when I start running they go flinging off into the bushes!!
My daughter is flinging off her demons through training for a 5K swimathon. She's already up to 3k in the pool (120 lengths).
We're trying to support each other to get rid of the damn demons! And become more balanced, fitter and happier people. Quite a lot to achieve, but the C25K has been a goddam lifesaver so far! π
