Longer run today :)

Today I decided to run for a bit longer than usual! About 40 mins. I figured that if I knew I’d be running for longer than my usual 30 mins, it might push me to start off a bit slower because I know I’m gonna need the extra energy! It seemed to do the trick! I paced myself a lot better than I have done during my last couple of runs :) I probably actually could have gone very slightly faster in places, maybe something to experiment with next time. But I was especially pleased with the start of my run :) and it was actually nice to be out for longer :) I really just wanted a relaxed enjoyable run today and that’s what I got :) pleased :3

If you think you are ready for one longer run per week that is great. Even better when yo enjoy it. You will soon get to 5K - by the end of Feb, I'd wager.

As Rennur says, 1 longer run per week is not bad. I am doing it myself too. I keep to 30 minutes in the week and slowly lengten my weekend run to reach 60 minutes. Well done!

Hi HexGirl,

well done for getting out for 40 minutes, this is where you start opening up more ideas for running.

My favourite runs are my slow bombles where I run for longer but at a pace of around 2 minutes slower per kilometre than my faster 5km runs.

Great to see you enjoying your running 😀
