After reassuring Ificandoit today that your mojo can be regained once reaching W7 and beyond, I decided with the late evening sunshine to follow my own advice and run!
On reaching home π‘ I teetered between staying home or getting my gear on and tackling W8R2. I was slightly reluctant as last time I'd run after work, I'd found it harder than the usual morning runs, completed in the school holidays. I didn't want to run and feel disappointed with my performance.
However my good voice over ruled the negative and I headed out the door. I'm pleased to say I completed the 28 mins and at odd occasions during the run, even quite enjoyed it!!
As I ran along during the last half, I thought, I'm feeling quite good, I might carry on a bit longer once Mr Smooth tells me it's time to walk. However, when he spoke up and said I still had 5 mins, I couldn't quite believe it, surely the app had stalled, this couldn't be right. Sorry MJ not doing extra minutes tonight, maybe next run.
Felt pretty pleased with myself post run but do have a bit of lower back ache tonight which is not so good.

Ooh I'll be chasing you on that nice w8r2 in a couple of days. I definitely didn't have anything left at the end of run1 but you never know. I bet your run 3 will be lovely!
Listen, you can't give up now! An extra rest day, take your tempo down a bit and you'll be fine! I do find I need a bit more time between these longer runs.
I do too ejvcruns , I need extra rest days now the runs are longer.
A while after the run, I start to feel shattered! I'm not sure if this is normal or because I have problems with my feet and legs. I'm flat footed and over probate, I also tend to suffer with puffiness in my ankles, especially towards evening. I'm sure I've inherited my mothers varicose veins too π
Is it normal to feel so tired after longer runs? I thought I should feel a bit tired but invigorated.
Well done on that run, watch that back though, rest days and a bit of stretching should help. Watch your posture when on that couch twisting your spine is bad. xx
Thanks Bluebirdrunner , I always do stretches after a run and Pilates once a week. I usually pretty tired a while after running and maybe few aches but not usually back ache.
Was lying on the bed later after run, watching TV but really noticed back. First noticed it after run, when got back and had dinner.
There are points on the run when you feel like you could go on for miles aren't there? However, when a voice tells you, you've got to run for another 5 mins, the reverie is interrupted and you're back to thinking about time again.
However, 28 mins you needed to run and 28mins you did, well done. As other say keep an eye on the pain, it may be just a twinge.
Thanks Whatsapp , the bit where I thought I could carry on occurred about the beginning of the second half, I find there are peaks and troughs, but more of the latter than peaks!
However, it was probably the best of my longer runs.
