Does anyone else have days they just can't run?

β€’9 Replies

Morning runners,

Yesterday I did my run it was just terrible I couldn't find my rhythm, I was really slow, didn't seem to be in the right headspace at all, the only thing I done differently was the day before I'd done a new 45 minute kettlebell workout, don't know if my muscles were tired. Anyone else have days where it's like you've never ran in your life? πŸ€”

Hello

I think most people have days where it just doesn't work out, maybe the new kettlebell workout had something to do with it maybe not.

An odd off day won't do any harm.

Good luck with your next run. πŸ‘ 😊

Hiya, I think there must have been something in the air yesterday because I really struggled with my run too, could barely manage 20 minutes. It definitely could be because of the workout but I also think that some days are just better than others unfortunately. Did you drink enough water the day before? x

Hello nice to know I wasn't alone, yeah I do struggle to always remember to drink enough, I will make more of an effort this week to drink more. Here's to hoping our next runs are better. πŸ˜€

I hope so, fingers crossed! My next run is Wednesday, when's yours? I'm trying out a new path as well.

I'm going to do the bike tomorrow and a shorter run on Thursday. Let me know how your run goes 🀞

Everything going on in our lives can impact on our performance as a runner. Restedness, hydration and nutrition are at the top of my list of variables that need to be optimised to enable enjoyable running.

Heavy legs can be symptomatic of poor hydration. As a runner you need to drink a minimum of 2.5 -3 litres of fluid each and every day, running or not, as mentioned in the guide.

Yes! it was like running in mud... but at times I felt I had moved up a level afterwards... It's a bad run. we all get them and for no reason.

but you completed it and move on πŸ‘
