Aching joints after a run - gone!

I’m 62 and graduated 18 months ago. I still run 2 -3 times a week but have been plagued with really sore sacro iliac joints( back of the pelvis) every evening after a run. Is particularly bad in winter so I presumed it was arthritis. A few weeks ago I started taking high dose Vitamin D 1000 IU and some multivitamins. It has taken me a while to realise that my rise from my armchair to go into the kitchen to make a cup of tea or a G&T is no longer accompanied by grunts and groans as I clutch my lower back!!

I don’t know which tablet did it ( probably the Vit D) but what a difference! Worth a try if you have the same problem!

At this time of year it is very easy to become deficient in vitamin D so your aches and pains may well have been caused by that.

Yes I knew I was probably deficient at this time of year but never twigged it was causing my joint pain even in the summer - and a holiday in Sri Lanka last Feb just before lockdown! I’m chuffed to bits with the difference it’s made!

Yes, especially if you were very low of VitD in the first place, I take it all year round..
