Week 1 complete

Feeling proud of myself for getting out at 6am on Monday morning to start my C25k journey. The snow/ice delayed my final run but I got there. I discovered this forum through the C25k app. I’m not much of a poster on social media but reading some of the inspirational posts has really motivated me for week 2 and to share my initial success!

Well done on Week 1 Cleo88, I completely agree with you about being part of this community - I find reading everyone's posts really helpful even if I don't post much myself. It's great to know other people have trodden the path before us and learn from them. I've followed it avidly all the way through and am just getting towards graduation, fingers crossed🤞

Hi Cleo, your experience sounds very similar to mine, I started a week ago and have been grappling with some less than desirable weather - my brand new running shoes are already covered with dirt (that'll teach me for buying pink trainers!). Congratulations on finishing the first week, it's beginning this journey that's the hardest part (I will remind myself of that statement when I reach week 9! 😆) . Do you find you're more likely to run if you do it first thing in the morning? I'm on my second run of week 2 and I'm finding it much better than w1 already.

Congratulations on starting your running journey too! That’s good to hear week 2 is better than week 1! Bits of week 1 have been hard going. My trainers are also covered in mud! Mornings seem to work for me, the darker mornings are a plus as I can roll out of bed and get my running kit on and no one can see my red face at the end of it! It’s a boost to have a run under my belt before work and I find I’m a bit more focused. Good luck with week 2! Fingers crossed for less snow and ice!

Well done Cleo88, you’ve done a great thing by downloading the app and getting started. Just take things slowly and steadily, follow the program and enjoy it. You’ll be amazed I’m sure with how much you can achieve! Very best of luck, keep posting on here if/when you need support or advice 🙂👍
