W8R2 like a gazelle or 🐘

Hi Everyone,

This morning ive completed W8R2, ive found it easier and calmer then W8R1, i already had the proof that i can complete it so just settled into a rhytm and carried on. Im reading a lot of posts from everyone about speeding up in the second half but from what Strava tells me my 2nd half is slower then the first. Im not too bothered as i make it to the finish line but it would be nice to progress there too. I was bored with my music so ive stumbled on the C25K playlist on Shopify and listened to that today. Music was atrocious πŸ˜‚but the beat propelled me forward and defnitely stopped me overthinking during the run. I would reccomendπŸ˜„.

Now that ive got 4 more runs till i finish the program i look back thinking that never in the million years would i have thought that i would reach where i am now after donwloading the app few months ago. This program has given me a sense of structure, built my confidence and provided a space just for me away from the craziness of the pandemic and everything that we had to navigate in the past year. The community here kept me motivated and provided a ray of sunshine on the blue days.

Ive really enjoyed the set routine of the program and im a bit concerned about going to uncharted waters afterwards for consolidation runs, feel like i will miss Jo in my ear on the run.

What would you lovely people suggest that worked for you?

Hey well done, that sounds like you are relaxing into the running and still enjoying it. I know there is lots of advice on here about what to do post c25k. I intend to do at least 3 weeks consolidation runs possibly carrying on listening to the wk9 runs then knows what comes next.

Its the magic of the 2nd run of the week i think, you already know whats in store for youπŸ˜„. Thats a good idea, ive not thought about that, definitely works for few extra runs after the C25K has finishedπŸ‘

You're going great guns NusiaFab! Speed nah don't I repeat don't worry about it, neither speed or distance are an issue. Get to 30mins continual running that's where C25k is taking you. Then you've got a great foundation to build on. I'll it your mind at ease, we won't just slam the door and clear off after you graduate πŸ™‚, the consolidation club is a great place, everything after couch to 5 k, those runs to embedd that distance, stamina. It's going to get you used to running different runs, segments or longer runs.

But for now back to C25k you're with that week 9 in sight, bring it home πŸ‘

You are a gazelle! Well done NusiaFab, I totally agree with everything you say. Especially about that sense of space just for you. I feel exactly the same way. We’ve got this! πŸ˜€βοΈπŸ‘πŸΌ

Hi NusiaFab great progress. I have done 7 consolidation runs and miss the CT5K app. With no one encouraging me, I eventually used my Samsung watch in running mode and track progress whenever a music track finishes (about 4-5 mins). In fact I hit 5K today for the first time :-)

I finished the run today. Post-run amnesia has me thinking it was great, but it was definitely hard.
