Cold!!! That's the first thought, on leaving a toasty warm house, the lane from said warm cottage is a slip slide affair, warm up jog iffy opt for a walk, better to be safe!
There's people out wrapped up ( looking warm 🤓) the towpath this morning WOW, I know damienair mentioned it's -7 across with him, it's not that cold probably about -2 but surprisingly not too icy by the canal 👍.
Two other runners cheerily pass, buffs pulled up..
The legs needed a reminder to go slow after the 2nd klm was a tad too quick, so I reeled it in checked the breathing 👀 a far better 3rd and 4th hovering around the 6min mark I like that pace, the legs are still going well 9weeks2run.... We need you mended and running 👍👍.
The route I chose today is still a favourite and the canal scenery is just too perfect not to grab a pic 📸, I mean why wouldn't you want to run! You don't know what you're missing!!
Sorry today wasn't a mismatch of colours Jools2020 bit too coordinating 🥳..
So after a bit of speed saved for that last klm it's goodbye to run number 9 for January, 10 for my longest run-streak.
Get yourselves out there and enjoy those runs,
Run safely and keep healthy and be kind to yourself every run is still a run however it goes👍
Well done for Run 9 of your January RED. Thanks for the mention 😃. I’ll have to take your word for colour co-ordination. Not exactly colour blind but I carry the gene; blues, greys and greens mostly look the same 🤣
Looks like a lovely crisp day there - perfect for running, -2 is great once you’re out there and running, but we’ve got freezing fog here and very poor air quality- tomorrow looks better so my run is postponed.
Tritanomalous? I know a lady who has no perception of blue at all. As to myself, I'm deuteranomalous (green weak). I do see colours but it requires really bright light for me to discriminate between browns and greens. This is pretty common in guys.
Never knew there was a name for it! My son and my father both have true colour defective vision. They can’t see any numbers in those tests with the circles. I can, so I just say my colour vision is ‘dodgy’ but I carry the gene from my father and passed it onto my younger son. Interesting stuff!
Off an tangent but my youngest who plays drum's, I took her to watch a brilliant drummer (name to follow 🤦 age memory) he had synesthesia whereby he saw sound as colour, quite mind-blowing until he explained it fully, had an accident ended up in a coma, came out with the condition, but it's not that rare in drummers, they just lay their drum set out in colour order....
Oh this I think started as a run post 🤦 now it's entering other dimensions 🙃
Are you seriously running in shorts and bare arms? Dammit, I get cold just seeing it! It was -2°C here this morning with my run too. But I weaf a thin fleece shirt with body warmer and a pair of winter leggings with very thin fleece lining. Perfect for chilly old me in freezy temps ☺
But you are right, it is perfect for running now, as long as you don't hit a icy spot. Couple years back I stopped running because of winter. Now I am lovin' it!

Well errrr I had my compression sleeves on and go-faster rundawear 🤣
Well done on Run 9 and hope you are enjoying January RED. Am literally just shocked you are wearing a t-shirt and shorts! Seeing what you wore just made me realise I run in a duvet! 🤣
Yikes limu_mu don't be letting SaskAlliecat see that running duvet she'll be adding it to her winter running wardrobe along with her quilted skirt 🤣...
But I did see other's running in shorts it wasn't just me 🤓
