Red January takes to the hills for no.10 and a meeting with a short legged horse with cool hair πŸ‘€

Ok say it as you see it Ian, this morning I'm "pooped" not running induced, just that nightshift slog. But digging deep, I hauled ass from bed to run, whaaaaaat yes.

Overslept a tad so that cut down faff time a bonus of sorts, and I didn't wanna be late as I'd arrangements to run virtually with vrb acountrycabbage πŸ₯³ though ok I'll admit that heatwave she mentioned, hmmmm not in Wales πŸ‘€ suncream not needed drat πŸ™„.

I'd dug into the depths of my not at all organized running kit drawer for brighter colours..... Told ya I could do a bright mismatch Jools2020, I wasn't out as early as you, I missed ya perhaps tomorrow 🀞.

Shall we go running πŸ‘, it's ice free on our lane and a nice gentle run down to meet the main Llangollen road, only a brief tarmac joggette as the trail gate soon comes up.

Last time it was rock hard and frozen. Not so today, more green and nicely sprung underfoot it's definitely kinder on the limbsπŸ™‚ belows a brief link about running off road and other get you motivated bits from runners World!

runnersworld.com/uk/trainin...

Back to the run, I will get up that 1st climb today, short strides, and a little lean into it, we're going up damn it I amπŸ’ͺ LEG BURN god I love/hate 🧐 Mummycav for the record I'm back on the canal side tomorrow, guaranteed!

Well if the first climb was steep, I have no words to describe the next section, perhaps Chris Bonnington would describe it better, I ran where I could, when running was impossible, I walked it, garmin pauses automatically if my pace drops too much and it gave me a nudge twice!

SNOW must be the elevation yep cold chilly toes it's not slippy, just cold n fluffy, quite easy to run in, the brooks cascadia today's shoe had done everything I've asked of it so πŸ‘ for brooks.

Eventually after not getting lost 🀫 through a hole in the hedge I found the lane above my house, a long way above btw, it's one sheet of ice, a gradient making even standing impossible, the council declaring it's unsafe to send their staff to salt the road 🀦. Clinging to the road edge I edge back down, towards level ground at last. I will be on a flat run tomorrow I promise myself, the last 2 klm in and around the village towards home, were gentle, and relaxing, legs still spent from earlier work. Today for the record Rebecca the legs feel old πŸ‘€. Back on it tomorrow number 11 πŸ‘ I coming for you.

Home for stretches and a really hot shower I guess... Enjoy those weekend runs people, keep safe and healthy

Happy Running πŸ™‚

Great running, Imc up and down those hills, no doubt helped by the brightness of your tee shirt, which may or may not be red! Doesn’t look like a mismatch to me πŸ‘

Yes, I was out early this morning, just after 8. Decided there was no benefit to waiting and off I went, in a new tee shirt that may or may not be grey. I don’t really care but it has reflective bits on the arms which I really like! 😊

Cheers Julia looking forward muchly to a flatter run tomorrow, and then I really need to address the fact that most of my running attire is well 🧐 monotone, I need to brighten it up a little for 2021 πŸ‘

You did it - frazzled or not. And (though perhaps an illusion) you appear to be celebrating reaching the summit.

in reply to GailXrunning

Ahhhh no that was my attempt at a number 10 coz it's run number 10 πŸ™ƒ that was halfway up πŸ‘

My goodness, you sound like a mountain goat, hopping and skipping about through that terrain! Well done!

What time did you head out? Don’t worry about ever having to catch up to me, I’m rarely out and about before 9 currently ☺️ Role on sunny spring mornings.. πŸ™πŸΌ

That pony has cooler hair than me. Reminds me of Jon Bon Pony and Pony Hadley from Friday On The Farm (Channel 5 programme) πŸ˜„

in reply to acountrycabbage

Ohh I wasn't out too early around 11am ish, the pony was a friendly little chap πŸ™ƒ

Extra weirdly matchy virtual run then as I left just after 11 today πŸ˜„ My hillocks could not begin to rival your mountains though. One day I will take some on! πŸ‘ŠπŸΌ

With the sheet of ice couldn’t you have just sat down and slid to the bottom ?

in reply to SueAppleRun

Ahhhhhh why didn't I think of that🀣 but errrr nooooo the gradient is seriously steeped it wouldn't have ended well πŸ€•πŸ€•

Might have been fun though Seriously though, the ice has gone round our way and looking forward to an after work run tomorrow
