Yep I set an alarm, no sleeping in this morning, Mrs Wife departed for her NHS shift God bless her and all the other heroes doing their bit ππ₯°. The slam of the door signalling the eldest was on her way to a 2nd day of mock exams, leaving just me a mini teenager year group isolation again π and a sleepy spaniel.
Breakfast was yep, the standard weetabix always is always will be πͺ.
So it's speed week run 1 what a reason to set an alarm ( have you set yours..... You should).
I'd my route planned a standard flattish loop, towpath and footpaths all's good. Now klm 1 can't do a speed run on that legs waking up and there's steps under the aqueduct to cross over the canal hmmmm, perhaps klm 2 nope I was in a world of my own fiddlesticks.... Right now it's klm 3 nooooo sidetracked by a chatty pair of definitely 150% still in love pensioner age people holding hands I commented on how nice it was to actually see people holding hands and walking (; Mrs Wife and I always btw hold hands or link fingers when walking it's the rule π€«) the old chap commented on their 58 yr marriage saying he didn't have enough energy to run, a glint in his eyes ..... What a tiger π―π...
That left only klm 4 but that's the slippy towpath section mushy with mud and leaves not a speedy part... Oh blow klm 5 really Ian strewth π¬ ok dig in deep and at least you haven't got to run another klm so hellsbells I slipped into gazelle mode ok ok shssssss to me I was that gazelle it may not have looked elegant, but I was owning this klm and I did..... Note to self more organization next time Ian π
