Phew, it seems like ages and some since I told you lot for a virtual run, so kick up the ass Ian and get those trainers laced up πͺ.
It's definitely easier seeing that sun in the sky.
Almost minimal faffing that's a first π. The family happily said her out there so off I went. All hydrated and breakfasted and those all important pre run stretches π€. I'm out the door. That Running attire today.
A tee-shirt
Shorts
Compression socks
Trainers
And strangely no cap.....
Let's go Running π
For three weeks now I've not had my aqueduct to pop across as repairs have meant shutting it, but today the barriers removed π, so I can run probably my favourite 5k loop. If your reading this and think jeesh I want some of that then hey what's stopping you! NOTHING IS GET YOURSELF RUNNING, IT'S BRILLIANT π.
That 1st klm was surprisingly Soooo enjoyable, after some silly shifts at work, I thought a 4 day break would mean that breathing would be shot at but it's ok, a definite effort to relax, running a comfy 6.25 klm nice pacing. That initial klm is a brilliant tow path section, it's almost like a flat trail run, as the towpath proper is on the other side, I'm running alongside the boats where the permanent moorings are, so I'm in nobody's way β .
The aqueduct was luckily empty, a few times ahead but going my way so all's good. And strangely little sign of wind today, a slight breeze maybe but hardly noticeable. The 2nd klm is just as I've crossed the aqueduct, where there's a few families out walking, I loop around the road to cross the canal, and back on to towpath towards Llangollen. The bridge I have to use feels slightly sprung and you can hear your trainers landing on it, a weird noise. The towpath is lovely today, that sun helping ππ that's a second klm 5.57, still comfy pacing.
The 3rd klm is shared between towpath and a lane passing rather nosey ππ sheep's, I do like the way they observe, the running bloke, I said hello, they just looked at me as sheep do π§, that's a 5.48 klm.
Ok I had a Burst of youth and went for that 4klm 4.53. it's a nice fast one, not overly stretching, but starting out slow helped.
Then that 5klm is a slight pull up hill heading home across the old river bridge, the weather's helped and all in all a good ol leg stretch π.
Hope your Saturday runs were good for you.
Or maybe you're running tomorrow, enjoy, take care and be safe out there π
Happy Running
