There was a nice interview with Josh Clark, inventor of the Couch to 5K programme, on This Morning today!
Thank you to sparky66 and Hidden for telling me - it was very interesting, and available on YouTube πππ

Gosh, he is relaxed, isnβt he! I bet he does yoga as well! π
A shame that they did not mention our fabulous HU community that supports C25k.
Very interesting interview with Josh Clark, inventor of C25K, he mentioned Parkrun, Josh and Paul Sinton-Hewitt, founder of Parkrun are the heroes of the last 25 years for getting people to start running, thanks for the link roseabi, I did not see the program this morning as I was a walk around my normal 5K running route at that time.
''No pain, no pain' - wish I'd heard that before I started C25K
Glad you managed to catch his interview βΊοΈ
Thanks , I will check that interview out. UTS tried to introduce me to running in 2004, but all I got was tendinitis (sorted out by a Turkish masseur on holiday). So in 2018 someone recommended c25k. Bingo - addicted to running and parkrun - and I have lots of vrbs as a result of HU. Thanks everyone, it was a life changer.
Thanks for posting Abi!
This should be required viewing for anxious beginners or doubters. One to add to the library!
What a wonderful interview and a lovely guy- he invented it for his Mum - Aww!
Well, what a lovely bloke!! I wonder if heβs ever heard of HU?? I feel a little connection to him βΊοΈ
I listened to the Eddie Izzard interview over the last two outings. He says he doesn't do running for enjoyment. He does it because it's the natural thing to do.
(No run today for me, just a walk: knee still sore.)
Aaaw...what a lovely man π₯°
I agree that this should be required viewing before anyone starts the programme! ππ’ππ’βΊοΈ
Can it be a pinned post?
It is pinned!
Yay! π
Are you able to see the pinned posts?
Iβm definitely flailing around and gasping for breath, (week 3) but if I went any slower Iβd be walking π€·ββοΈ
As per Curlygurly2's suggestion on your post, I think you should check in with your doctor. But also, walking is a fabulous exercise and there's no reason why a person can't do C25K by alternating gentle and brisk walking intervals. But it could well be that some tweaking of your medication will help get you running - if that's what you really want to do! Alternatively there are plenty of workouts that can help you get fit without running, have a look at the Strength & Flex community posts healthunlocked.com/strength...
Thanks for sharing the link. I just love that he never wanted to monetise the programme, and that, years down the line, it remains meaningful to him because it was a gift to others. What a difference itβs made to so many lives! Amazing.
