W6R1 - much easier than W5R3

Hiya,

I just returned from W6R1 and oh my how much easier it was than W5R3. No pains, no gasping, lower heart rate, ... I guess that has to do with the fact there were walking intervals again. My condition is not yet where it has to be to run a full 20 minutes and my body needs those walking intervals. Looking forward to my next run with the walking intervals, but once again dreading W6R3.

Cheers, Evy

Well done.

Don't dread any run, it is totally counterproductive and will inhibit your ability to perform in a relaxed manner.

Perhaps this post about mental approach might help you put it all into perspective healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

You just completed the run that catches out more people than any other in the programme........go you!!

Well done Evy 👏🏻👏🏻 listen to the wise words of IannodaTruffe he’s the running Guru. It’s all about going out with the right mindset. One of my favourite quotes that fits this scenario perfectly is from Henry Ford: Whether you think you can or you think you can’t you’ll be right. 🤔

Feeling tense and dreading a run are both counterproductive so go out feeling positive and relaxed, you’ve got this BlackScorpion 💪🏻🏃‍♀️

Do you mean it was easier than W5R3, not W5R1? Typo?
