I can't help comparing my progress to 2018 when I last attempted Couch to 5K. My Week 8 post last time talks about how it took me a month to complete all three 28-minute runs, so having completed it within a week this time round really fills me with hope that I might actually get a shiny graduate badge this time!
R1 was a cold and drizzly lunch time run, which was actually quite refreshing on balance, but it was a tough slog of a run, so I was pleased to get it done.
R2 was an out-and-back route during lunch time again. Slightly easier but required careful pacing to stop my heart rate climbing too high. I'm getting quite confident listening to my body and slowing as required to complete the session - I definitely didn't have that skill last time round.
R3 was after work, in the dark. Just me and my music (through bone conducting headphones - a must-have for listening for traffic and surroundings in the dark), and the pavement. Heart rate quite steady so pace was slower, but I absolutely loved just spending some 'me time' after closing down my laptop for the day.
I feel like I've cracked this running lark now! I've joined the December 5K challenge on Strava - however long it takes, I will be aiming to add that to my trophy case!
