Week 8 - Done and Dusted ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธโœ…

I had been in 2 minds about todayโ€™s run.... the wind was howling, the sky dark and miserable.

I popped on the forum and saw so many amazing people who had already been out today, battled the elements and succeeded.... I had wonderful words of encouragement and so thought whatโ€™s the worst that can happen?

It may be just a โ€œpractice week 8 run 3โ€ (thatโ€™s ok I can try again on Wednesday), I may be slower (thatโ€™s ok), I may get hit by a falling branch ๐Ÿ˜‚ (hopefully not Iโ€™ve not healed fully from my last injury yet)

But whatโ€™s the best thing! I can progress! I can tackle a demon, my own self doubt! I can move onto week 9!

Itโ€™s really a mental battle for me, but with the supportive words and positive switch in attitude I went out and nailed it! I am so proud of myself! It was actually my furthest run running just over 4K in the 28 minutes ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿ’œ. Clearly Iโ€™m not in the ballpark of running 5k in 30 minutes next week but thatโ€™s ok ๐Ÿ‘

Hereโ€™s to progress, not only in my running and moving onto week 9 on Wednesday but for overcoming those little demons which tell me I canโ€™t and I shouldnโ€™t!

If you are reading this at the start of the program believe me I struggled in week 1 and 2. I couldnโ€™t understand who the magic happens and that people end up being runners.... itโ€™s not magic itโ€™s you, baby steps and telling yourself you can do it. The actual running is only half the story changing your internal voice is just as vital. Keep running and telling yourself you are marvellous!

What a fantastic positive post! Well done on reaching the last leg! 4k in 28 minutes is fantastic at this stage. 3 more runs and you're there.

I am so proud of myself.... thank you for your support! I honestly canโ€™t believe I only have 3 runs left! What an absolute rollercoaster ๐ŸŽข.

I am going to celebrate with a new running bra come Sunday! ๐Ÿ˜‚

Thankyou! I honestly have started to believe this is possible and Iโ€™m going to do it!

Itโ€™s funny as my husband has tried to get me running for years and Iโ€™ve always said no Iโ€™m not a runner.... and here we are!

Well done BowlingT, the trick is, not to think of anything at all when your running, banish all thoughts from your mind......apologies to anyone reading this who thinks here he goes again he always says this......but what I do is I clear my mind of all thoughts and if one pops into my mind I visualise an eraser rubbing it out and blowing it away.....try it, it works for me. Also take a look at the You Tube motivational video on my Bed To 5k post, I often watch it when I need a push......be positive, graduation is now in sight ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ‘€

Oh I will try it! I tend to think a lot while Iโ€™m out.... usually not the most helpful of thoughts. And I will definitely look up that video thankyou๐Ÿ‘

Yay you did it ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ how was the arboretum? No falling trees evidently ๐Ÿคฃ

You are so right about the power of positivity -itโ€™s right up there with hydration rest and stretches!

Donโ€™t worry about 5K in 30, most people donโ€™t get there at graduation and I doubt I ever will but 5K in any time is amazing in my book.

Canโ€™t wait to see your graduation post, not long now ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป

Thankyou so much ๐Ÿ˜ It was absolutely the best decision to go there as it was a little bit sheltered with nice paths. Windy but not too bad and I want crushed by a tree branch ๐Ÿ˜‚

I can see the end now and to just get there is enough for me! So excited! Itโ€™s like waiting for Christmas
