A bit warmer today, 5°C, and a nice little evening sun accompanied me. My legs felt a little heavy, I seemed to 'slof' along. I tried to pick up my feet, but I kept slightly dragging them. I don't know if it is because I run so slow (kinda like slow jogging)?
Anyhow nevertheless I found it another pleasant run. I fall into repetition, but I like this slow running 😁. Onto W4R3!
Heavy legs can be symptomatic of poor hydration. As a runner you need to drink a minimum of 2.5 -3 litres of fluid each and every day, running or not, as mentioned in the guide.
During the week I drink over the whole day about 2 liter I think, of course that is until I go to sleep. So take between 1 and 1,5 liter before I run. With some difficulty too, but I try. During the weekend I hardly drink 4 glasses in total. Shamefull, I know 😔
Drinking 1 -1.5lts immediately before a run is going to have very little effect on your general hydration and is a lot to take in over a short period ...........you need to drink 500ml two hours before you run, as explained in this post about the crucial nature of adequate water intake healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
Oh no, I mean 1 to 1,5 liter during the day, so spread over the day before I run. I run around 16h. So between 7h and 16h I drink about 1 to 1,5 liter. More I can't handle. This is already a LOT for me...
I love that photo BlackScorpion that sun looks so crisp and sharp, brilliant slooooow running 👍👍
Too bad of your injury today. Take enough rest, better an extra day of rest (and caring for the leg) than having an injury that takes you out for weeks. Take care!
I know, just frustrating is all. I was actually really getting into it but I’ve got the rest of my life. You’ll have to graduate for both us us so no pressure 😁
You’ll get quicker in time, be patient, you’ll get there. I have a banana about 30 mins before I go out, plus a drink, the banana digests fine and gives me the energy I need👍
